QUESTION KIT / UNDERSTAND THE UNKNOWNS

Take the question at your own pace.

What is known about harm, and what is missing?

The offer says there were no problems in a study. Ask how much that study could actually tell you about harm.

A short study with few people leaves important questions open.

Bring these questions to the visit

CHECK / OPEN

What was studied?

What was not studied?

What does that mean for me?

Bring the gaps into the discussion.

Small studies cannot establish safety

FDA's review, checked September 2026, says the small, short human studies cannot establish that BPC-157 is safe.

They also gave limited detail about how problems were tracked.

FDA raises a concern about the body reacting against BPC-157 injected or given through the nose. Unwanted substances mixed in, or BPC-157 sticking together in clumps, may add to that concern.

This is an immune response: the body's defence system treats a substance as an invader.

FDA found no studies designed to investigate this immune response to BPC-157, in its review checked in September 2026.

Ask the doctor or other licensed person treating you to explain the uncertainty in your case. Leave space in your notes for what they cannot answer.

Ask how the maker checks for unwanted substances and for BPC-157 sticking together.

Ask during the conversation

What do we know about harm, and what has not been studied?

How would you recognise and respond to a problem?

Information about other medicines and pregnancy is missing

As checked in September 2026, no FDA-reviewed BPC-157 label explains its effects on other medicines or its use in pregnancy.

When medicines affect one another, it is called an interaction. Bring the full names of what you use so the person treating you can discuss the gap with you.

None of the human studies listed in FDA's review involved pregnancy.

Mention pregnancy plans, breastfeeding, health conditions and previous reactions during the assessment. Ask how missing information affects the proposed plan.

Ask during the conversation

How do my health history and other medicines change this discussion?

What information is missing for someone in my situation?

Sport and service rules are another check

The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) names BPC-157 as banned at all times on the list in force in September 2026.

That includes time away from competition.

As of September 2026, the US military also lists BPC-157 as a prohibited ingredient in dietary supplements.

Tell the person treating you if sport or military rules apply to you. Ask the organisation responsible for your rules to address the exact substance and situation.

Ask during the conversation

Which sport or service rules apply to this substance in my case?
